Its great that the most awaited KUMBH MELA festival is going to be held in Haridwar from January 2010. I hope this is only such kind of religious events where one can see Naga Sadhus in fierce ways, Baba's from different Ashrams as well as all these Rishis and Munis which we Indian are proud of.

Kumbh Mela is one of the largest human gathering in world and this time also we expect such an flow of people from different parts of world to attain this festival. from my past experience of organizing camps for Kumbh Mela, it seemed to me that not only we indian are very keen about this festival but also all those NRI's and Foreigners who are into photography as well as religious and spiritual events drop in to be the part of this huge festival.

Just couple of weeks ago, i got chance to travel to Rishikesh and Haridwar with those elderly uncle and aunt along with their family member for their religious and spiritual tour at the ago of 60 + years (Many Thanks to Ulltimate Travels and rupali Issar to make me their guide and help me to serve those elderly peoples.)

In that virtue, i got a chance to have glance at the pre preparation done by Uttranchal Goverment to promote this mega event. Seems like that Haridwar is being blowned up in colors and flowers as well as the bank of Holy Ganges being clean up. Its nice to see such efforts of Goverment to promote Kumbh Mela.

i hope to write further more details on Kumbh Mela and its rituals as well as try to provide further details on Bathing dates of Kumbh Mela, Akharas during Kumbh Mela and Camp Om (Accommodation in Haridwar).

SARISKA

Sariska National Park

It is situated in the Aravali Hills. It is divided into the grasslands, dry forest, sheer cliffs and rocky landscape. A vareity of wild animals like sambhar, chital, leopard, nilgai, langur, hyena, wild boars, jungle cats and tiger are found in this reserve.It is also a home of peafowl,harbours quail, sand grouse, golden woodpeckers, eagles etc. The lake on the edge of the park has large number of crocodiles. This National Park is covered with dhok Trees. Sariska became a sanchuary in the year 1958 and it came under the project tiger in 1979. In 1982 it become a National Park.

Jaipur, which is the closest airport link, is 107 km away and Alwar , serves as the nearest rail link, which is 37 km away from Sariska.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS

KANKWARI FORT: Situated 22km from Sariska within the core area of the park, built by Maharaja Jai Singh, later used by Aurangzeb to keep his brother in captivity.

NEELKANTH: Capital city of Bargujar kings, Ajaypal the ruler of bargujar, constructed this temple town before 1010 AD . Around 2826 statues and ruins are spread around temple. 100 metres away from the temple, is a 16 feet x 6 feet statue of a Digambara Jain Tirthankera, Parshavnath locally refered as Naugaja.

PANDUPOLE: It is belived that during exile, Pandavas passed through the mountain by piercing a whole with Gada by Mahabali Bhim. This temple is a religiousplace of interest.

BHANGARH FORT: In 1631, Maharaja Madho Singh established this city for 10000 people.

CAMP CARNIVAL SARISKA

Camp Carnival Sariska is located just outside gate no 2 at a distance of 245km from Delhi and 110 km from Jaipur. They have 11 fiber and 6 swiss luxury tents. Each has a attached washroom . Apart from the beautiful location, camp consist a large play ground area in whic anyone can enjoy a number of activities like Cricket ,volleyball, badminton, football etc . Food served at the camp is there USP consist of both vegetarian and non vegitarian meals. They also prepare food with the guest's choice. they only offer buffet meals at a dining area in sepearte and spacoius Gol Ghar.
